After a language evaluation and ‘needs analysis’ we suggest a course programme and timetable which are best suited to the participant’s learning objectives and availability. The lessons are generally private, (one teacher to one student), but we also maintain a programme of small groups (3 to 6 participants).
Cambridge School offers the following programmes in Portuguese:

Cambridge School students come from many different professions: diplomats, executives from international companies working in Portugal or preparing for postings in Africa or Brazil, staff of Non-Governmental Organisations, missionaries/clergy and students on exchange programmes.
Students meet each other at our coffee breaks and can take part in the weekly study visits which are included in course fees. Other study visits of professional interest can be arranged during one to one courses.
We can provide information and assistance in booking accommodation at local hotels.
Nowadays, most people are aware of the standards represented by the suite of English exams administered by the University of Cambridge ESOL:
- Cambridge First – B2
- Cambridge Advanced – C1
- Cambridge Proficiency – C2
However, many do not know that a similar suite of official exams exists for Portuguese and represents approximately the same standards. These also belong to the 5-level ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) system of language assessment and certification.
Cambridge School prepares and presents students for these examinations with excellent results.
